What is Phantom Galaxies? Potential AAA games of the Animoca Brand house
Phantom Galaxies is a potential AAA game project that has recently been launched on Steam and Epicgame, the project is considered a product of the Animoca Brand house with extremely high quality products and game combs. So what are Phantom Galaxies? Will this AAA game project return? Let’s find out below.
1. What is Phantom Galaxies?
Phantom Galaxies is an open-world AAA game, this is a game set in outer space where players will fight against their planes and robots.
Players will explore lands, collect materials while participating in quests and fighting other forces in space. The game has gameplay quite similar to the old Squadron game released by VTC game, the game will have a fairly fast fighting style and requires players to master weapons and make the most of the strengths of each spaceship.
2. Gameplay mechanics
The game has been released for free on Steam and Epic Game platforms, so people can download the game on both platforms. Entering the game, players will be able to choose their male or female characters.
Players will receive quests in NPCs and choose their own type of spaceship, only 1 type can be chosen, but you can collect more resources to be able to own more spaceships.
However, at the beginning of the game, players can only choose 2 types of spaceships because they are not eligible or have money to choose their other spaceships. The spacecraft can be easily transformed into mechs and each has different characteristics.
Players can also equip different weapons for their Spaceship/Mech, but each weapon will have different abilities, so you need to choose the one that suits your gameplay best.
Players will participate in battles on many different planets, participating in resource gathering while guarding against the attack of space bandits.
In general, the game has open-world gameplay and different gameplay such as gambling in bars or arcade games, which are small game systems revolving around the main storyline of the game. This, in turn, creates diversity for this AAA game.
3. In-game NFTs
Currently, the game has many different types of NFTs and almost all NFTs are items or materials to use in the game, so measuring the value of these NFTs is very difficult.
However, the most core NFT of the game is NFT Planet, which is an NFT with a feature that allows players to own 1 private planet and can fully use that planet.
Basic information about NFT Planet:
- Total Supply: 9,331 NFTs
- Which is classified into 5 types including: Small Asteroid, Large Asteroid, Small Planet, Medium Planet, Large Planet.
- The current prices of the type you can see in the photo.
For 2 Presale A and B are 2 types of NFTs needed in the mint of the above Planets and the mint period has expired, so you should be careful to buy those NFTs by mistake. Currently, NFTs have no use.
In addition to the above NFT Planet, the project has just launched NFT Avatar and Starfighter Genesis Series, these are Mintpasses used to Mint robots/spaceships in the game.
Players can buy these NFTs on Opensea to mint their favorite Mechs, currently there are a total of 5 different types including:
- Veteran Fleet Mintpass — Third Class
- Pristine Fleet Mintpass — Third Class
- Standard Issue Fleet Mintpass
- Zveta Gene Sample Mintpass: Third Class
- Unspecified Origin Gene Sample
Most of these NFTs are only used to mint Mechs in the game, so the only benefit is that, so if you are really passionate about the game, you can invest, but from an investor’s perspective, I will not mint or buy these NFTs.
4. Tokenomic
The project has already launched tokens $ASTRAFER and previously there was also information about the project’s tokenomics, but recently when the game was launched on Steam and Epicgame, information about tokenomics was no longer found. This I speculate that it is likely that the project will rebrand or change its tokenomic in the near future. I will update more fully when there is official information from the project.
5. Project Development Team
Phantom Galaxies is published by Blowfish studio, which was acquired by Animoca in late August 8 for up to $2021.19m. It is a Sydney-based developer and publisher of high-quality cross-platform games, which has won major awards including: Qbism, Siegecraft, Morphite, Projection: First Light and Storm Boy.
Blowfish was founded in 2010 by Benjamin Lee, a veteran of the computer software and 3D graphics industry, and Aaron Grove, visual effects supervisor and award-winning.
It is a studio with years of experience in developing and publishing games for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android, as well as expertise in Virtual Reality (VR). Blowfish has a catalog of 33 games, including both self-developed and published titles, which have been played by more than 2.5 million people.
6. Partners and investors
Phantom Galaxies received an investment of up to $19.3m with the participation of large investment funds such as: Sequoia Capital, Dapper Labs, Kingsway, YGG, Polygon, Avocado, Double Peak Group, Liberty City Venture.
7. Conclusions
Phantom Galaxies is an open-world AAA game developed on the polygon network, developed by studio Blowfish, which was acquired by Animoca for up to $19.2m. In terms of game products as well as gameplay, Phantom Galaxies can be rated as extremely high quality.
If put on the scale with Bigtime or Shrapnel, Phantom Galaxies will not have any inferior in graphics and gameplay, but in terms of NFTs, the project is releasing too many of its NFTs and these NFTs only have certain privileges in each event, which turns the project’s NFTs into “garbage” and will be difficult to access for newbies.
However, when the game launches in the official beta and there are many changes in tokenomics, it will help the game improve compared to before, so if you are a gamer, you can download the game on Steam to experience the project and if you are an investor, you can follow the project’s token during this period to find investment opportunities best.
