Launching a New Service, Ripple Makes a Significant Advance in Africa

The well-known cryptocurrency payment company Ripple is attempting to grow in both the US and Africa. To make it easier for more US businesses to conduct business abroad, they have improved their service, which is now known as Ripple Payments. Simultaneously, they have partnered with African fintech Onafriq to facilitate money transfers from Africa to other countries, such as the UK and Australia.
Brendan Berry, Chief Payment Officer of Ripple Payments, discussed the company’s focus on simplicity at a major event held in Dubai. Thanks to Ripple’s own licenses in places like the US, companies won’t need to be crypto-savvy to use it, and integration will be simple for US and some other country firms.
Although banks have historically been Ripple’s primary clientele, they are now expanding to include companies that must seamlessly process international payments. They can quickly pay foreign suppliers or employees using Ripple. With intentions to expand even further in the upcoming year, this service is starting off in the US.
Not to be overlooked is the collaboration with Onafriq. It will enable clients of specific UK, GCC, and Australian companies to send money to Africa more quickly and affordably. Africa’s leading mobile money provider, Onafriq, has already connected 500 million wallets across 40 nations.
Aaron Sears, the CEO of Ripple, thinks that this partnership will significantly impact individuals who transfer money to Africa, demonstrating how Ripple’s technology can revolutionize international payments.
