Hackers targeted MicroStrategy’s X account on Feb. 26, breaching its security and posting a message promoting a fake “MSTR” token. This scam link led to the theft of nearly $500,000 in cryptocurrency. Although MicroStrategy promptly removed the deceptive post, a copy was preserved by a crypto personality known as Spreek.

Screenshots revealed that the hackers sought to deceive users by suggesting that MicroStrategy was distributing a new Ethereum-based token called MSTR. They encouraged users to click the provided link and enter their credentials, promising them access to “free MSTR.” However, this was a ruse by the scammers to gain unauthorized access and steal users’ information.

While the full scope of the breach is still unclear, an investigation spearheaded by blockchain expert ZachXBT suggests that the scammers may have amassed more than $440,000 in cryptocurrency thus far.
Transaction records associated with the suspected hacker’s address reveal that a substantial portion of the pilfered funds has been laundered, with transfers routed to various cryptocurrency exchange platforms like KyberSwap, ParaSwap, and POKT Network. As of the time of reporting, MicroStrategy has not issued any official statements regarding the incident.
This latest development comes mere days after MicroStrategy’s founder, Michael Saylor, reiterated his steadfast commitment to retaining the company’s sizable Bitcoin holdings, which presently stand at over 190,000 BTC, valued at an excess of $9.7 billion.
Shiba Inu team warns of scams amid new SHEboshi token

Lucie highlighted that investors are being targeted through fraudulent giveaways, particularly in the wake of the successful launch of SHEboshi. This new token adheres to the DN404 standard, which combines the benefits of ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens.
Emphasizing that Shiba Inu is not conducting any airdrops, Lucie cautioned that any claims suggesting otherwise should be viewed as fraudulent. She urged token holders to verify the authenticity of promotional information by visiting official Shiba Inu channels on platforms like Telegram and Discord.
Alongside her warning, Lucie provided resources to empower the community to stay informed and protect their investments by relying on verified updates.
It has recently been discovered that a deceptive scheme operating under the guise of ‘@thesheboshis’ is aiming to deceive and take advantage of the Shiba Inu community by falsely claiming association with the SHIB-backed Sheboshis project.
The Shibarmy scam alerts team, on February 22, emphasized the critical need to avoid interacting with posts from this fraudulent project, as they pose potential phishing threats.

Lucie emphasized the necessity of conducting thorough research in the cryptocurrency space, highlighting the potential for scams to lead to substantial financial losses.
She urged both SHIB investors and users to carefully vet any new platforms before connecting their wallets. This caution is particularly crucial for those attracted to emerging opportunities in swiftly evolving markets such as Sheboshis, which experienced rapid sellouts during its second minting.
The community was advised to remain vigilant against fraudulent airdrops, a prevalent scam tactic, and to promptly report any suspicious accounts. This collaborative effort aims to safeguard individuals within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
